The Government of Odisha in India announced plans on 10 December 2025 to equip 34 cyber police stations with dedicated cyber forensic laboratories. The initiative aims to expand local capacity for analysing seized devices and digital evidence from growing online crime caseloads. Building laboratory infrastructure at police station level is expected to reduce evidence backlogs, improve chain-of-custody handling, and provide better technical support for fraud, harassment, and cyber-extortion investigations.
