UK predictive policing amendment tabled in Crime and Policing Bill

Green MP Sian Berry has tabled an amendment to the UK Crime and Policing Bill to prohibit predictive policing technologies outright, sponsored by eight other MPs. The move follows Amnesty International research finding at least 33 police forces have deployed such tools, with civil society groups arguing the systems entrench racial bias and undermine the presumption of innocence. The Bill is currently in final legislative stages.
